Overview

The Al Fahidi Fort Museum project is a key initiative led by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, reflecting its commitment to supporting the vision set out in the Dubai Strategic Plan 2021. This vision places strong emphasis on sharing and promoting Dubai’s rich cultural heritage, both past and present.

Nestled in Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood at the south of Dubai Creek, near Al Souk Al Kabeer, Al Fahidi Fort stands as a venerable testament to the city’s history, bearing witness to a profound and ever-evolving past. The primary objective of the project extends beyond mere preservation, encompassing structural consolidation while introducing an entirely new and innovative museum experience. This transformative approach seeks to reimagine the fort not only as a meticulously preserved structure but also as a dynamic and enticing visitor attraction, elevating its status to that of a world-class cultural destination.

At its core, the museum becomes a captivating narrative hub, intricately weaving the story of the fort into the broader historical fabric of Dubai. It endeavours to explore and showcase the fort’s pivotal place and role in shaping the identity of Dubai, inviting visitors to delve into the intricate layers of its history and significance. Through this comprehensive undertaking, the museum aims not only to preserve the past but also to establish itself as a compelling and immersive destination that resonates with locals and captivates the curiosity of global visitors.
