Overview

A Key Role in the Realization of the France Pavilion

RIMOND played a fundamental role in bringing this ambitious vision to life, managing the entire design and construction process from the preliminary phase and initial site mobilization to the final delivery. RIMOND was responsible for the design and assembly of the complex steel structure supporting the pavilion’s curved geometries, cantilevered balconies, and the wide access ramp. The ramp, clad in reflective pink copper, stands out as a distinctive architectural gesture, precisely crafted to reflect both sunlight and the movement of visitors ascending through the space.

Innovative Technical Solutions and Sustainable Design

Another technical highlight was the installation of the tensile membrane façade system, designed to move gently with the wind, evoking the motion of theatrical curtains. This lightweight fabric façade required close collaboration with façade engineers to ensure optimal performance under local climate and wind conditions. Inside the pavilion, RIMOND oversaw the integration of all architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring full compliance with Japanese seismic and fire safety regulations.

Intercultural Coordination in a Global Project

One of the most distinctive aspects of RIMOND’s work on the France Pavilion was its role as an intercultural facilitator, coordinating between the Italian design team, the French stakeholders, Italian specialists, and the Japanese team while adhering to local regulations. The construction process demanded not only technical excellence but also fluid communication across different languages, time zones, and construction methodologies. Leveraging its expertise in international project management, RIMOND ensured a cohesive, high-quality result—on time and perfectly aligned with the sustainability and innovation goals of Expo 2025.

A Symbol of Culture, Innovation, and Collaboration

Today, the France Pavilion stands as a testament to collaborative architecture and flawless execution, offering visitors an emotionally engaging and technically sophisticated experience. As general contractor, RIMOND led the entire construction effort, including the assembly of the complex steel structure, installation of acrylic rods, the pink copper-clad staircase, and the integration of the pavilion’s signature tensile façade. RIMOND also managed the implementation of all mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems, ensuring full compliance with Japan’s strict seismic and regulatory standards. Through precise execution and international collaboration, RIMOND contributed to the realization of a pavilion that embodies France’s enduring commitment to innovation, culture, and a shared future.
The France Pavilion reflects the country’s global vision rooted in culture, powered by innovation, and guided by love. Thanks to RIMOND’s precision and expertise, this vision has become a reality.
