On 27 January 2026, the Predazzo Olympic and Paralympic Village was officially inaugurated, marking one of the key strategic hubs of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
RIMOND, together with its subsidiary Martinelli & Benoni, delivered the Village at the Guardia di Finanza Alpine School in Predazzo, contributing to the development of a critical infrastructure supporting the Games.
The complex will host approximately 430 athletes from 65 countries during the Olympic Games and 180 athletes from 23 countries during the Paralympic Games. The facilities offer modern, functional spaces that seamlessly integrate newly built structures with fully renovated historic buildings, in full respect of the existing architectural and environmental context.
To deliver the project, RIMOND adopted a fast-track construction strategy, combining extensive prefabrication with direct execution of the works. This approach made it possible to meet highly challenging timelines while ensuring the highest standards of quality, performance, and safety throughout all phases of the project.
The Village was designed and built with a strong focus on environmental sustainability. Most buildings are constructed in timber, with the exception of reinforced concrete foundations and the central core, which features a steel vertical structure. The use of timber 100% recyclable and environmentally friendly significantly reduces the project’s overall environmental impact. In addition, photovoltaic systems have been installed on the roofs to support the complex’s energy efficiency.
Working in an alpine environment presented significant challenges: complex logistics, harsh weather conditions, and a limited construction window required rigorous planning, operational flexibility, and close coordination among all stakeholders.
Today, the completion of the Village stands as the result of strong teamwork and is a source of great pride for the entire project team. A forward-looking development that leaves a lasting legacy for the territory, fully aligned with the values of Milano Cortina 2026.
