On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, RIMOND contributed to the creation of Growing Matter(s), a sensory installation designed by Henning Larsen in collaboration with the Material Balance Research Lab at Politecnico di Milano.
The pavilion embodied a radical vision of sustainability and circular design. Composed of 80 mycelium spheres suspended within a biodegradable structure, the installation merged nature and technology into an immersive, ephemeral, and deeply symbolic experience.
We are truly proud to have contributed to the realization of a project that skillfully intertwined ideas, generations, and visions into a genuine and engaging sensory experience. Growing Matter(s) became a space of connection between material and thought able to inspire wonder, introspection, and a renewed awareness of our relationship with the environment and the passage of time.
The continuous flow of visitors, the curiosity reflected in their eyes, and the range of emotions evoked by the installation are a tangible testament to the power of design as a universal language. A language capable of inspiring, of building bridges between people, and of opening new paths toward the future. This project gracefully and powerfully demonstrated design’s potential to imagine a more sustainable, empathetic, and shared tomorrow.
Collaborating with such a creative and forward-thinking team was a true privilege that enabled the realization of a work that blends aesthetic experimentation, environmental responsibility, and strategic vision. This project not only stood as a concrete example of sustainable innovation but also embodied the shared values of a more conscious future, where design, nature, and technology interact in harmony.
The synergy between diverse areas of expertise gave rise to more than just an installation, it became a manifesto of possibility, reflecting our ongoing commitment to a respectful, circular, and future-oriented approach to design and construction.
