Deep Surfaces opens its doors in Venice

RIMOND is a partner of the international exhibition on UNESCO World Heritage Sites hosted at Palazzo Zorzi, Venice, as part of the 2025 Biennale.

From May 10 to November 23, 2025, Palazzo Zorzi one of the Renaissance jewels of Venice and home to the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe will open its doors to Deep Surfaces, a remarkable exhibition officially included in the program of La Biennale di Venezia Foundation.

The exhibition deeply explores the role of architecture in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, focusing on how contemporary design can not only respect and preserve the memory of these places but also transform it into an active, generative, and inclusive experience for both local and global communities.

RIMOND’s participation reflects a strong commitment to valuing architecture as a tool for dialogue between past and future, culture and innovation, preservation and transformation.
We collaborated with the curators and other project partners to define an exhibition language capable of merging scientific rigor, aesthetic impact, and experiential engagement, offering visitors an immersive journey through more than 50 international projects from highly diverse historical and cultural contexts.

Promoted by UNESCO and the Royal Commission for AlUla, Deep Surfaces is the result of a synergy among institutions, universities, and design studios an ecosystem that brings together RIMOND, Giò Forma Studio, Politecnico di Milano, Krill Design, and Black Srl, united by a common goal: to explore the transformative potential of architecture through an inclusive and sustainable lens.

The exhibition is conceived not only as a showcase of best practices, but as a platform for active dialogue, a space where architects, scholars, citizens, and decision-makers can reflect on the impact of design choices in sites of outstanding heritage value.
Each project on display demonstrates how architectural innovation can enhance accessibility, strengthen cultural identity, and promote a virtuous balance between historical memory and contemporary vision.

Through Deep Surfaces, RIMOND reaffirms its mission to design and build spaces that generate meaning, responsibility, and beauty contributing to the dissemination of a design culture that is conscious, sensitive, and oriented toward the common good.
